NEGRIL, WESTMORELAND

NEGRIL.png

Negril, a shortened version of "Negrillo", meaning "little blacks", was so named by the Spanish in 1494. There are two theories about how it got its name: first, the black cliffs south of the village, and second, the large amount of black eels found in the Negril River.

Negril Beach has been ranked among the ten most beautiful beaches in the world, so bring your sunscreen, a good book, and get ready for hours of rest and relaxation.

Negril is famous for its hectic nightlife, so don't forget to bring some evening wear with you before heading to Norman Manley Boulevard. Let our reggae rhythms make you dance all night long.

The parish of Westmoreland also offers many activities around the island's natural resources. It is a parish that we recommend for a quick passage, it is very touristic and therefore "less authentic" than its neighbours.
