Blue Mountains adventures

The Blue Mountains, located at the eastern tip of Jamaica, reach 7402 feet in cloud and share some of the most spectacular views of Kingston and Cuba on a clear day. With more than 200 inches of rain, 300 in some places, and the cold climate, they support a number of indigenous species of flora and fauna, with huge trees at low elevations, but delayed growth at high elevations due to the cold. Together with John Crow Mountains and Port Royal Mountains, they were designated as a National Park, the Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park, by the Government of Jamaica in 1992 to protect the environment and promote sustainable development in the country's largest watershed. The 193,292 acres cover ten watersheds in the parishes of St Andrew, Portland, St Thomas and St Mary.
