Adventures in the Cockpit Country

The Cockpit Country is the largest vestige of Jamaican wilderness, and there is really nothing like it on the island, not even in the Caribbean. If you like tropical forests, birds, butterflies, bromeliads and karst topography, or if you don't have the experience and think you could, you will probably find this trip very cool (and it may inspire you to come back in the future to be more adventurous).

Discover local agriculture & enjoy a farm to table lunch

Duration: 4 hours

From traditional agriculture to permaculture, you will discover through this experience how the inhabitants of the country cockpit live. After harvesting the seasonal fruits and vegetables you will pass behind the stoves to prepare and enjoy a local dish.  During this adventure you can admire the wild nature of the natural park!

Did you know that? Usain Bolt is from a neighbouring village, on the way you can stop by the school of his childhood...

Historical trails in †he Cockpit country deep bush

The country cockpit, in the central region of the island, can only be crossed by three roads: the Troy-Windsor trail, the Quickstep trail and the Heading-Pantrepant trail, now almost lost. Apart from these three thin lines that offer a fine route through the inhospitable depths of the Cockpit Country, there is no "easy" passage.

Other hikes can be organized on request.

For the trails we depend on the local guides (few) and therefore cannot commit ourselves on availability. â€‹â€‹

Caving and animal observation at Windsor

Duration: 3 hours

The Windsor Caves are a virtual treasure, with huge deposits of guano, the largest population of bats on the island and fascinating and magnificent formations in the limestone rock. Caves, however, are more like an inaccessible treasure chest, because for the vast majority of visitors, a trip inside the cave will not be an easy experience.

At the moment, and in order to preserve the cave and its inhabitants, access was limited to people carrying out research and experienced speleologists. Contact us for more information!
