PORT MARIA, ST MARY

PORT MARIA.png

St. Mary might be one of the smallest parishes in the eastern end of the island but it boast s a rich and wide array of exciting places to visit and attractions.

Because of its geographical location, it was once favored as a thriving banana parish, where acres of bananas could be seeing as one navigated the parish.

With hurricanes and heavy rains though, the parish has had its fair share of lashing leaving them with fewer banana plantations that are fully operational.  The parish also produces sugar cane, cocoa and coconut

St. Mary is the birthplace of a number of dancehall reggae artists. These include Capleton, Lady Saw, Ninja Man, Sizzla and Tanya Stephens.
